Interview
Extremely friendly, very informative, and be prepared to ask relevant questions. Each interview will be different depending on the division, but the enthusiasm for world development within each person was evident. The drive for change and passion for democratization is present in the company.

Why do you want to work here?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at International Republican Institute in Aug 2023
Interview
The interview felt like a bait-and-switch. I was supposed to be interviewing for a research role.
At the beginning of the interview, I was told that the role would actually involve almost solely administrative tasks and that if toward the end of the internship, staff needed help with research then I would have some research-related work, but that was unlikely to happen. I continued regardless.
I had prepared for an interview regarding my research experience, so this caught me off guard. I was only asked a couple of simple but sometimes strange questions. One had to do with walking through my entire resume and detailing how each experience related to administrative work. The strange one was asking me how I communicate, without clarifying further. That felt like the kind of skill that should be shown rather than told.
The interview felt very scripted as well.

The hiring process was efficient: initiated with a brief phone screening by HR, followed by a panel interview (very easy to talk to and patient). Everything proceeded smoothly and positively.
