The process took 2 days. I interviewed at JCPenney (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2011
Interview
I had applied online and a couple of weeks later, got a call from an HR person. We scheduled an interview for the next week. The interview lasted about 30 minutes, the girl was really friendly. She was very enthusiastic about the job, which made me really enthusiastic about it. At the end of the interview, she said she would recommend me for an interview with the manager, which we scheduled for the next week.
The second interview lasted about an hour and it was really enjoyable. The manager asked a lot of behavioral questions ("Tell me about a time when..." "what would you do if..."). I got to learn about JCP. I think it really all depends on the store and the manager.

Question 1
If JCPenney was your business, what 3 things would you want the consumer to know you were doing?
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience. Selected candidates then participate in one or more interviews with the hiring team, which may include behavioral and role-specific questions. Final candidates may be asked to complete an assessment or meet with senior stakeholders before a hiring decision is made. Candidates are kept informed throughout the process.
