I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JCPenney (Huntsville, AL) in Jun 2014
Interview
I met with the HR manager, Operations manager, and Sales manager. I felt comfortable with them, they where all very informal before the interview started and where all females around my age with children. After my interview with them I came back on a different day to meet with the store manager. He was also very good at putting my nerves at ease. He asked me some person questions to begin with, like what are some of my hobbies and he shared some of his with me. Then he asked me more job related questions.
Pretty standard. Competency questions, asking about background, several role play situations. Was interviewed by only one person and the process took around forty five minutes start to finish. Interviewer was very friendly and informative about the expectations of the position. I was kept in the loop during the entire process and the subsequent follow up was done in a timely and professional fashion. Overall, a positive experience.
