Disappointing candidate experience from a recruitment company. If you're a recruiter considering a role here, it's worth reflecting on the interview process reviews - as your own career may be judged by the standards set internally - which are poor.
I’m sharing this in the hope it’s helpful for future candidates and for the internal team reflecting on candidate experience.
The initial stages of the process were excellent. I had a particularly positive interaction with one of the senior members of the recruiting team, whose energy and clarity made me feel genuinely excited about the opportunity. Unfortunately, my experience shifted during the next stage, where I sensed a lack of engagement from one of the interviewers, who was obviously distracted and typing on another screen.
It left me unsure whether I was being taken seriously as a candidate, which was disheartening after investing time and preparation.
Communication afterward was inconsistent, and I was left unclear on the status of my application for several days, really struggling to get though to the company via email and phone calls. Eventually, I was offered the role, but by that time I had accepted another offer and felt hesitant based on the overall experience.
I work closely with hiring processes in my own role as a head of recruiting and know how critical candidate experience is.
Despite the time that’s passed, the memory of this process has stayed with me—both the highs and the lows. I hope this feedback helps support continued improvements.
