Got an invitation to the initial recruiter call two months after applying. Next was the interview with the CEO, which got scheduled pretty quickly. After that, the recruiter called me and asked whether I can do the next interview on that same day, in an hour. I declined and asked what are the available slots for the next week. The recruiter said that she will call me back to let me know. Moments later, I received a rejection letter on my email.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Jua.ai (London, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
First Interview with CEO for 15 mins
Task and an IQ style test - took around 90 mins
Second Interview with the Chief of Staff for 45 mins
2nd Task - Sourcing focused and a task around reducing applications
There were four/five rounds:
- First interview with the CEO to get a general impression of each other
- Take home assignment with a coding test followed by some IQ/Workplace attitude/general quiz
- 1 hour discussion with 2 senior engineers about my personal projects/work experience
- Trial day
- Last interview with the CEO
I received an offer, which was rescinded after the reference check.
The process itself seemed well ran enough, my one critique is the final/reference stage.
They asked me for two references, then came back asking for a third because the first two allegedly raised concerns. I provided one, but they never contacted them before rescinding the offer.
If the decision had already been made, there was no reason to ask for a third reference.
I got the impression that they have an unusual way of making offers/deciding whether to hire you (waiting for you to accept the offer before convening and actually consolidating feedback from all interview and making their decision).
The final outcome was disappointing but nothing in the process felt particularly unfair.
