The interview process was efficient.
The interview was conducted by the HR personnel and hiring manager. The hiring manager seemed welcoming, the questions asked were standard, and overall a positive one. However, the HR appeared standoffish and was rude.
After I had left the interview on a positive foot, the next day upon returning to work I learned from my current employer’s HR that KLM’s HR had call them to verify my employment and get my character assessment BEFORE my scheduled interview.
I was shocked to receive this news and was put off by the unprofessionalism of KLM’s HR representative at the same time. Now, according to guidelines, potential employers are supposed to obtain consent from the candidate for making a call to their references. At this point, I have not filled up any application form.
Please note as a current employee, I am still accountable to my current employer. Now, HR are meant to represent the company positively and hold utmost professionalism at all times.
As an avid traveler, I have always had a positive passenger experience with KLM airlines and after getting a feel of their culture through this HR representative, I am indeed disappointed with the HR/recruitment experience.
