Step one: Phone interview (basic interview questions for low-paying job, ie why are you interested in this job, background, availability) Step two: In person meeting where applicant takes a 1 hour spelling and literacy/ cognitive test from the 1970s (unpaid time) Step three: If you pass the tests, you are invited for in person meeting where they see if you fit within their personality and culture. This is a 3 hour unpaid meeting where the director shows video demonstrations of their researched model for child literacy tutoring. Applicant is expected to lead each exercise as teacher, then perform exercises as student. This process is quite challenging, but was meant for them to gauge if you are a fit for them.
