I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at League in Sep 2025
Interview
Disappointing hiring process despite clear communication and full participation. I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at League and completed all rounds, including technical, architecture, and final discussions. While the interviewers themselves were respectful and the process was structured, the overall experience was disappointing.
After multiple rounds and positive conversations, I was informed at the very end that the team believed I was not aligned. Soon after, the position itself was removed. This made the effort and time invested in the process feel wasted, as the decision seemed driven more by internal recalibration and budget constraints than candidate fit or performance.
Companies should ideally ensure leveling and compensation alignment early in the process to avoid miscalibration this late. I hope League improves transparency and internal coordination so that candidates are not taken through the full funnel only to be told the role is no longer viable.
Pros:
- Respectful interviewers
- Clear communication during scheduling
Cons:
- Leveling calibrated at the very end
- Position removed after completing all rounds
- Significant time investment for an outcome tied to internal changes
- Lack of alignment between hiring and compensation teams
The interview process is long and almost dragged out but overall it's positive. I had about 7 calls before an offer was signed. Feedback for the team: The hiring manager interview can be combined with the Product interview to decrease the timeline.
