The interview process consisted of an initial conversation with the recruiting specialist who reached out to me. The conversation circled around the role and what Lemonaid does. The conversation went well and I was then scheduled to have an interview with my future, direct manager. This part of the interview involved a further discussion of the role, what my job responsibilities were at the time, and general conversations around how I would address certain issues regarding search ad campaign performance and delivery. There was time set aside for questions that I had, questions that were answered thoughtfully and thoroughly.
This stage of the interview process went well and I was moved on to the next step that required me to complete an exercise that was related to the responsibilities the job required. The assignment was to be submitted within two days. The exercise, overall, would have taken ~2 hours, but I spent ~5 hours out of personal preference to ensure I did a thorough job.
How I addressed the exercise was deemed satisfactory and I was moved on to the next phase of the interview process, a panel interview with four members of the company. Two of the interviewers were members of the marketing team I would be joining, one of which was my direct manager again. The other two interviewers were a product manager and the head of business operations. The interviews with the individuals outside of the team were meant to gauge culture fit, inter-team dynamic fit, communication skills, and my analytical skills. The interviews with my future team members were to ensure that my current experience and skills were commensurate with my future responsibilities and that I would be a good fit for the team. Regarding my second interview with my direct manager, we went over the exercise I completed and I was asked to provide explanations regarding my answers and the thought processes that went into providing my answers. Each interviewer allowed me time to ask questions, questions that were all answered thoroughly and thoughtfully.
My final interview was with the head of marketing. Our conversation revolved around my experience and how it would align with the role. In addition, the conversation was more technical as I was asked to address hypotheticals. I provided data driven answers in turn. I took advantage of this moment to really show my understanding of key performance metrics and the Google Ads platform. There was time left for me to ask questions. Again, my questions were answered in a satisfactory manner.
A few days after my final interview, the recruiting specialist who first reached out to me contacted me letting me know that I was offered the position.
The overall process was streamlined and there was effective communication throughout. I was kept in the loop via email communication frequently. The best interview process I have had in my career thus far.
