I applied for the Assistant Employee Experience Manager role back in June. The Talent Acquisition team was very helpful, and my first interview went well. I moved on to the second round and received feedback that while there was no doubt I could do the job, they wanted to see more of my personality to assess team fit.
I took that on board and felt confident going into the in-person interview, as I’m usually strong in those settings. However, the second interview felt quite the opposite — the energy was off, and it honestly seemed like the interviewer couldn’t wait to wrap it up. In fact what was advised would happen in second interview did not fully take place. I didn’t receive an offer, which is fine, but it left me questioning how someone’s “personality” can truly be assessed over a Teams call or during an interaction that lacks engagement from the other side.
For me, inclusivity means embracing all personality types, not just those that fit a narrow definition of “culture fit.” It’s disappointing when that doesn’t seem to be the case.
