Managed by Q is in the process of starting its business in Chicago, so I was initially contacted via email to set up a phone screen with the HR manager in New York. That interview was fairly easy and quick and he forwarded my information onto the local hiring manager. Since they didn't yet have an office, we met at a coffee shop to interview.
As far as interviews go, it felt more like the manager trying to sell me on the job than me interviewing for a job. Most of the hour-long interview was him talking about his vision for the role and the Chicago office, and me interjecting my own qualifications and experience when I could. I'll admit I was surprised, given the tenor of the conversation, to not get a callback. If I were to give suggestions for interviewing, I'd suggest that the interviewer should work on a 5-10 minute overview of the position, and then make time to ask the candidate about their qualifications for the remaining time.
