      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at McKinney (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2019

      Interview

I had a phone screening with the recruiter, a phone interview with the Creative Director, and then an in-person interview. I flew to Los Angeles from the East Coast for the interview and have yet to hear anything back. My interview also started 45 minutes late and I waited at the front desk seating area for over an hour. It has been close to a month and I have emailed and called for an update, only to not receive a response. The company is very unorganized and does not care about applicants which I am sure reflects their work culture. If you interview and do not receive an offer, do not expect to receive a response regardless of location. I will never apply to a job at McKinney ever again and I have lost all admiration for the company.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at McKinney (Bergen op Zoom) in Sep 2022

      Interview

The interview coordinator reached out to me within 2 days of sending in my online application asking to set up an interview. She said she was very excited to meet me and that they loved my portfolio. When the interview day came, I went to the Zoom link and no one else joined. I reached back out to the interview coordinator to confirm I had all the correct details, and she apologized profusely saying that the recruiter was not feeling well and that she forgot to let me know that morning. I told her I understood that life happens, and that I would be happy to send over my availability for the next day and following week to reschedule. She said she would be in touch soon to set something up, and then I never heard anything further. The following week, I received an extremely generic rejection letter from the same person I had been corresponding with when we set up the email. The rejection email seemed like the one they sent to people who applied and did not even qualify for an interview, which was extremely confusing and felt very unprofessional, considering I had already had an interview scheduled and they were the ones who didn't show. I have admired McKinney from afar for a long time and hoped it could be my place of employment someday, but now I wonder whether I've dodged a bullet. So ironic that an advertising/communications agency would have such poor communication/organizational skills.
