      Associate Systems Engineer Interview

      Oct 7, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Medicus IT

      Interview

The interview process started off with a phone interview with general questions. I was then asked to take a 2 hour assessment test. An interview video screening was then requested afterwards. However, I never heard back from company after my interview. They could've been more professional and updating the status of their applicants. I took my time taking a 2 hour test and for them to ghost is unprofessional.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Medicus IT (Winter Park, FL)

      Interview

Extremely long hiring process. Phone screening via recruiter, followed by a video call, followed by an in person interview. In between those processes, after the initial screening they send you multiple assessments to test your technical skills, as well as an aptitude test to determine your critical thinking skills under pressure. The tests were about an hour in length and almost gave the feeling of applying to a 3 letter government agency job. I was completely blown off by a recruiter after giving them my time to interview at their workplace. I was informed I would receive feedback as to whether I either got an offer, or not by a certain day later that week. It’s going on 2 weeks, without any sort of follow up on whether the process is going to continue or not. My advice for any applicants, don’t hold on to this place if they bring you in. Keep looking elsewhere as you probably won’t hear back from them after they have wasted your time. Oh and also, the kicker is.. I applied for the “associate system engineer role” which they conveniently changed to “level one support” in the final interview but failed to let me know that initially. Apparently their entire organization is doing a restructure. Also, low pay range for what the job entails.

This is great feedback for our team, thank you for your candor! Your feedback aided MIT in reviewing and improving our recruiting process for future applicants. Specifically, we have instituted additional follow ups to candidates as they move through the hiring process to ensure our emails are not overlooked or sent to spam. Additionally, we have shortened the timeframe between our initial recruiting call and the first in-person interview. With that said, our hiring process is rigorous in nature and depending on the role with which a candidate applies there are a few assessments that we ask candidates complete prior to attending an in-person interview. These assessments are a tool that allows our hiring team to ask better interview questions and provide a better overall interview experience. We apologize for the lack of clarity regarding the title transition MIT underwent during your interview process. Prior to receiving final confirmation that our service delivery title alignment would proceed forward and announcing those changes to our internal team we were unable to provide this information to external candidates. We would like to take a moment to provide additional context to the decision behind our title re-alignment. Medicus is working to implement a standardized framework that will allow us to scale the service delivery organization to deliver a best in class experience. As we continue to grow, we have looked to the IT industry to show us examples of what scales most efficiently. And, in the case of IT service management, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) was published. We have drawn from ITIL documentation to help us create more clarity and simplicity in job titles.
