Late February, I applied online and took the 45 minute test for the position. It's designed to view your typing skills, asks questions based on scenarios, and asks basic questions about functioning with computers. After a few days, someone from HR contacted me and asked me a few questions screening me for an in-person interview. I switched careers, from working in the Admissions department at a university, to the medical field. He asked why I decided to switch to the medical field and if I'm willing to make a two year commitment. Satisfied with my responses, he scheduled me to interview with someone from HR the following week.
I met with the lady from HR and she asked a variety of behavioral questions and asked why I would like to work for MSKCC. The interview took about 30 minutes and due to a work commitment, was scheduled for the second interview with two department supervisors the following week (mid March.)
The last interview was very difficult in my opinion, because I was not prepared for the 20 behavioral questions they asked me. I was also very nervous, and I took a few minutes to think about my responses to reflect about my 8+ year work history, since it's very hard to recall things when I am nervous. I left knowing I did not do my best, but I still haven't heard from the department yet and it's been about a week since I have seen them.
Overall, everyone was very nice and professional, and was willing to meet with me at a convenient time. To do well, you must display confidence, and be well prepared to answer their behavioral questions.
