Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Metropolitan Opera Association (New York, NY) in Jul 2022
The interview consisted of the first round interview with hiring manager on telephone with standardized interview questions. This was preceded by a standard, very professional email from the HR coordinator to schedule the interview.
- What interests you about the position

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Metropolitan Opera Association (New York, NY) in Nov 2021
I went through two rounds of interviews for a full time role in the Artistic department. Both felt like they went well, and I had a lot of experience in the industry to be able to hit the ground running in the role, and was told they'd make a decision and be in touch. I sent follow up "thank you" notes via HR on both interviews, and then never heard from anyone. When I finally reached out to HR three weeks after the second interview I was told the position has been filled. Zero communication from an institution like the Met Opera, after telling someone they were in the final round of interviews, is outrageously unprofessional in my book, not to mention disrespectful.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Metropolitan Opera Association in Apr 2021
Received an email a week after I submitted application for a phone interview with HR. I had a single twenty-minute phone interview, with assurance I'd hear back in two weeks. I checked in three weeks later and found out they went in another direction.
- How did you hear about this position.

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Metropolitan Opera Association in Feb 2019
Very professional and efficient application process. Applied online, was contacted after a couple of weeks, had one phone screener, one Skype interview with two interviewers and one final Skype interview with the Department head. Everyone was extremely kind, professional, and accommodating, allowing me to interview via Skype since I wasn't currently in the city. Although they were unable to match the higher salary offer I received from another organization, I was very impressed with everyone I met and would welcome the chance to explore further opportunities with them.
- Tell us about a time a customer was upset and how you handled it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Metropolitan Opera Association in Nov 2018
They called me and we talked for a little bit about my interest in the Opera. We mutually decided that the position was not right for me, but they told me that they would keep my resume on file should something else come up. They were polite and professional throughout, and I will definitely pick up should they ever call me about another position.
- Have you ever been to the Met?
