I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Miami Dade College (Miami, FL) in Jun 2012
Interview
they are always hiring in most areas. the first round is with 3 people at least, the second round is with a chair person, and the third is with the dean. In case there's a chair person stepping down, you have no chance getting the position, even if you are being interviewed. chairs get teaching positions automatically. the jobs site lists current openings and in some areas they put up positions that may open up soon.

Got a call requesting that I come in for an interview 2 days later with a very tight window for available times. If you couldn't make these times, you were out of luck. Was led into a large conference room where I met with head of department and 2 senior professors. Introductions were made, I was asked to talk about myself and then I was asked to give the 5 minute presentation I'd been asked to come prepared with. Then some questions were asked.
