Pros: The process is relatively quick. Took about two months from start to finish, which is depressingly fast by today’s standards. The first two rounds were a standard screening followed by a video interview with the person who would have been my direct supervisor. The recruiter was communicative, and my direct supervisor was genuinely authentic and engaging when I spoke with her. Up until the final round, it was straightforward and promising.
Cons: The final round is a ridiculously convoluted, four-hour gauntlet at HQ. I interviewed five people back-to-back, most of whom came across as corporate robots who seemed eager to be anywhere else. I ended up having the exact same conversation five times because apparently no one there had ever heard of a panel interview.
The icing on the cake was the rejection. Instead of a standard rejection, they told me my "level of engagement" gave them pause. If you can remain high-energy and "engaged" while repeating your answers for the fifth time to a group of people who are completely phoned in, my hat is off to you. You’ve earned the right to work at a car wash company that apparently thinks they're Google.
