I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Moma (New York, NY) in Aug 2015
Interview
Was asked to come in to be interviewed a month after I applied. I was interviewed by the Department Manager and a curator. They were very nice and thoughtful to me during the interview. Although I wasn't offered the position, I left thinking highly of the level of professionalism held by MoMA's employees. It would definitely be a place I'd like to work for in the future.
Here are some things that I thinked helped me:
I had a New York address and was able to come in for an in-person interview
I asked questions
I did my research and came prepared

Question 1
How does your academic background fit the skills needed for this position?
The hiring manager directly reached out via email to schedule an online interview with them and the team. The entire process took about a month from interview invite to offer
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Moma (New York, NY) in Sep 2018
Interview
I met with the person I would be replacing, then both people I would be supporting. Then spent time "picking the brain" of the admin I would be replacing. This was quite a lengthy interview and I felt like they really wanted to choose the right person. I was not ultimately chosen even though I received positive feedback from the interview.
