I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Motion (London, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview involved 4 proper steps, and some in the middle which were more catch-ups with the internal recruiter. Everyone that I met was great and friendly. The steps were a technical interview with the CTO, a coding challenge, system design and finally a chat with the CEO. The internal recruiter was especially enthusiast and happy to answer any questions.

Interview
I submitted the Loom and application and heard back quickly. I actually had a lovely experience with the recruiter that I spoke with. She was professional, bubbly, communicative, and great vibes. I moved on to the team lead interview and I didn't enjoy that one. She was friendly but had terrible, vague questions that were difficult to answer and didn't seem thought out beforehand. They weren't targeted or specific at all. I got feedback that my answers were too vague, which made sense because the questions were very poor and difficult to answer.

Interview
I thought it was just me that had a terrible experience, but seeing the other bad reviews made me feel that I wasn't alone. I submitted a video as part of the first step and quickly got an HR screening after. The interview started a bit differently, where the HR recruiter was showing me a demo of how their products looked, which I thought was pretty cool, but I felt we were stuck on this part for a bit too long especially considering the interview was supposed to be 30 mins but went on to take almost 1 hour!! I felt the questions that were asked weren't really clear and didn't give me a good opportunity to explain my experiences. This was probably my worst interview experience. My feedback is please learn to lead the interview productively to not waste people's time.
