    Interview

Friend at the New York office referred me to the Seattle office. They flew me out there and interviewed me the next morning. After the interview they flew me home that night... not really enough time to know if I liked Seattle enough to move my family there

    Interview Questions

    • So annoying— they just wanted to know if I write scripts for BIM...over and over- it was all they cared to know about- apparently the design team is a bunch of pretentious nerds... and I kept looking at the “construction document guys” with their baggy/dark circled eyes silently sitting off to the side.... I wanted to do architecture- not become a software operator so I passed   1 Answer

    Interview

It was 3 separate interviews. They gave me the tour of the office on the first visit, and for each visit after that, the interview team kept growing. It felt like they were letting me into their family, something i had never seen in a previous company. They turned out to be the best employer i had ever experienced so far.

    Project Architect Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 10+ months. I interviewed at NBBJ (New York, NY) in May 2018.

    Interview

NBBJ NY - unprofessional interview experience. Upon arrival, there was no receptionist waiting - empty desk and had to wait for 15mins before the receptionist came in from "lunch" - interview time was by then already running more tha 10 minutes behind from the scheduled time through no fault of mine. No apology from receptionist for showing up late and said he would "message" the interviewers to inform (I would expect a minimum a call, especially knowing that interviewee was waiting while no one present and it was past the interview time) Regardless, slience went for another 25 minutes - eventually, one interviewer out of three scheduled showed up past the 35 minutes late - there was no explanation as to why the interviewer was this late. The two other interviewers scheduled did not have the minimum professionalism to show up - no prescence - it ended up becoming one and one interview for the process, which found not to be transparent.

During the short interview, the interviewer mentioned of regretting to leaving the older firm(s) the interviewer worked in the past, with the statement along the line of "I have left some firms I worked in the past a little too early"- found that conversation to be inappropriate for an interview.
