Wow. That was bad.
I applied on LinkedIn to an office HR Admin type role, a recruiter reached out with a suggested date and 1 hour time window for an interview. I confirm, letting them know I’ll be there at the start of the hour.
I get to the address provided, and was surprised to find it was for the actual restaurant(a order & go type place). I went up to one of the many cashiers, gave them my info, and asked if they could direct me to the right place. The guys tells me to stand by the trashcan and wait.
15 minutes to by, no one acknowledges me, so I ask someone else if I’m in the right place. They hand me a basic paper application(weird) and tell me to wait. I assume they gave me this on accident, since I overhear people next to me being brought back for walk-in cashier staff roles.
After waiting over an hour, I call the recruiter and leave a voicemail. Keep in mind, people are eating lunch around me, there’s no where to sit and no updates.
As I’m walking out, someone new comes up and asks me my name. No introduction from them. They then ask if I have a completed application, which I explain I didn’t think I was supposed to fill that out. They get really agitated and start aggressively pointing at the application going, “where does it say that????? Where????” I apologize and say I can get it done in 1 minute, they huff off and leave.
I realized then it was ridiculous I was apologizing for waiting over an hour next to a trashcan in the cold so I left.
The recruiter called me & apologized no one was available, they were professional. However, I was not interested in rescheduling after the rest of it was such an absurd disaster.
