I applied online. I interviewed at Noom (New York, NY)
Interview
Assessment was sent first. Email stated that they "would be in touch with next steps, which is a conversation with one of our recruiters," which never happened. Wasn't given a chance to explain the work and they were "unable to respond to specific feedback requests."

Question 1
Draft a sample email to announce their new parental leave policy
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Noom
Interview
The first step of the interview process was to complete an assessment test. The first part asked you to write a sample email testing written communication skills which was simple enough. The second part involved pulling data from a spreadsheet to answer questions. The idea of giving an assessment test is a great idea. However, the instructions for the second part of the test made no sense and were poorly written. I even had other people look at it and they too could not make sense of what they were asking. Even the instructions on how to submit the application were conflicting. If you are going to send out tests like these, at least make sure that they are comprehendible.

Question 1
Please draft an email communicating our new Parental Leave Policies to the organization.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Noom
Interview
I applied through their website and then received an email saying I was selected for the next steps. The next steps were a two-part assessment that took about 1-2 hours. I thought the assessment was relevant and thought-provoking. I returned the assessment and didn't hear back for another two weeks. I eventually received an automated email saying they weren't moving forward. I understand if they moved forward with someone else, didn't like my work, or put the position on hold due to COVID, however, asking candidates to do an assessment and then not taking any time to personally connect with them is pretty unprofessional and makes me question how serious they take customer and candidate experience. Some kind of feedback would have been nice. Personally, I am now pretty turned off by Noom and their product. I spent 2 hours working on their assessment and got an automated scripted email back. I see most of their recruiters are pretty junior, so perhaps they don't understand the importance of candidate experience.
