I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Ochsner Health (Baton Rouge, LA) in Feb 2011
Interview
My interview went very well and they were interested in me also. They asked that I do a "shadow shift" to be sure I liked the unit, work pace, employees, etc. I did the shadow shift, which was a night shift. I slept until late afternoon to prepare, drove an hour there and worked 4 hours. They said everything went great and they would be in contact to start hospital orientation. After two weeks and no contact, I called human resources. After they went through my file, the lady said they hired someone else for the position! And they did not even compensate me for the "shadow shift"! I have never heard of a hospital doing this and I certainly would not have wasted my time for free!
