Maybe you don't realize but you were in interview with a QA not a senior java developer. Do you still think writing code is playing vital role in QA? If I need a method or any code I just ask chatgbt and get the results in seconds. Better than best senior developers. You accept it or not soon or later even you developer guys will not need as much as needed in the past. Just think about it change your mind. Ask QA's qa related , soft skills , scenario based questions.
