I interviewed virtually for an Admissions Specialist position at Oral Roberts University. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and was conducted professionally. I felt confident during the conversation and believed I had presented myself well.
That said, I didn’t receive an offer, and in reflecting on the process, I think the interview expectations might be more challenging than they initially appear. The questions themselves weren’t overly difficult, but it seemed like they were looking for very specific types of answers — possibly ones that align closely with the university's values or internal practices.
It wasn’t easy to tell exactly what kind of response they were hoping for, which made it a bit tough to gauge whether I was hitting the mark. If you're interviewing for a similar position, I’d recommend reviewing ORU’s mission and values ahead of time and preparing examples that clearly show how your background supports those. Also, having structured answers (like using the STAR method) might help in making your points more impactful.
Overall, it was a respectful experience, just a bit hard to read in terms of expectations.
