Interviewed with top 3 newsroom managers, plus my direct supervisor. Submitted 8 work samples and 3 references. There was no talk of pay until the end. The questions were generally about work I had done at previous employers and why I wanted to leave the job I then had. I talked frankly about my wish to work for a higher profile company.

There was no interview, just a phone consultation. I asked at the end of the conversation whether there would be formal interviews and was told yes. The next phone call I got was to inform me that someone else had been hired. I mentioned I thought I deserved at least an interview given my credentials. Was told no formal interviews had taken place. So obviously, somewhere in this process, I was blatantly lied to.
