      May 13, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Singapore
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OutSystems (Singapore) in Mar 2022

      Interview

Started off with a call interview with OutSystems Talent Acquisition Specialist to talk about the role I applied for and my current employment status & information. On the day itself, received a call from the specialist to arrange for a technical interview with the lead engineer. During the tech interview, besides introducing myself to the lead engineer, I was presented with the list of tech questions during a zoom call. Answers were provided to the lead engineer during the session. After the tech interview ends, I was told that I was chosen to the next round of presentation interview. The presentation round was to do up PPT slides and role play on some of the scenarios that was provided. After the presentation interview ends, another 2 sessions were arranged. First session is speaking with the Lead engineer on the roles & responsibilities, expectations and concerns on the applied role. Second session is speaking with the Senior Director regards to my background, the presentation as well as expectations on the applied role. The whole interview process takes about 1 month from the call interview till the formal offer. The specialist is always actively providing updates on the interview process.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OutSystems in Oct 2024

      Interview

The interview process started off well and moved quickly at first. It began with a recruiter screen to discuss the role and assess alignment with the position's requirements. The second round was with the hiring manager, which provided an opportunity to dive deeper into the role and explore my experience in detail. The third round involved a 90-minute live technical assessment, focusing on JavaScript, CSS, and SQL. The difficulty level was comparable to a basic-to-intermediate HackerRank challenge. Additionally, questions around microservices architectures and other broader discussions around APIs. Throughout the process, all the interviewers were professional, approachable, and a pleasure to speak with. The three rounds took approximately two weeks to complete, and I was informed by the recruiter afterward that I had received positive feedback. I was told to expect an update the following Monday to discuss next steps. However, it wasn’t until Wednesday that I received a message stating that additional candidates were still being interviewed and that the decision-making process would take another week. Unfortunately, after that, the only further communication I received was a generic rejection email 12 days later. While I understand the competitiveness of the job market and the volume of qualified candidates, the lack of transparent communication after three rounds of interviews, paired with an impersonal rejection email, left a disappointing impression. Providing more timely updates and personalized feedback would have reflected better on the company and demonstrated respect for the time and effort candidates invest in the process.

It was a simple remote meeting to check my current role and weather I fit the job description and role I was applying for. Second round was scheduled after two weeks, which was again a remote session ( Technical Interview) which was good and the interviewer was very friendly, he made me comfortable during the session and I felt really positive about the round. Third round was with the Lead Customer Success Manager, mostly It was my future manager, this round was focused more around my current role and how I have implemented customer success in my current role, how do i engage with the customers, and mostly around customer success.
