Interview

They will have you interview with multiple people; Besides HR, with someone from Sales, and another Solution Architect (Sales Engineer), and someone technical to ask technical questions (related to development and database queries) from Portugal (over Skype). In the last step, I had to prepare a presentation and product demo to try to "sell" the OutSystems product (I had to learn as much as can about it over a weekend) to a bunch of OutSystems Salespeople and Solution Architects (Sales Engineers) who acted like a prospect.

While the HR staff seem engaged and organized, the company as a whole was not. They wasted hours and hours and hours of my time interviewing and preparing for a job req that was changing and weren't looking to fill based on my skill set. I actually was left hanging after wasting hours of my time and never contacted again.

Hiring manager was very down to earth. Honest assessment of the company's previous business and current business plans. Interview was very relevant to the position that was being filled. Interview process went smoothly from the recruiter contacting me to the actual interview. Everyone was very courteous.

Multiple steps with the hiring manager, GM, sales manager, Services Manager, and SE. Demo required and fairly easy if you use their solution provided. All questions were standard for a sales engineer role. Everyone was friendly and easy to talk to.

Easy interview process that consisted of one phone interview and one Skype interview both around 30 minutes. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. It was a very easy interview and I loved working at the company.

Poorly organized interview schedule and form questions only. They seem to be going through the motions only, perhaps headquarters or Atlanta better managed than Boston- one would hope. Met with HR and the acting Dir of Sales .

Unconventional and fun. There were Skype interviews with direct reports, CEOs and other people with whom I would work. I was not asked "canned" questions from an "interview" manual and instead was asked real questions about how I get work done and what I think I can do. I was also asked about my knowledge of rapid application development and what kind of writing I enjoyed. I was also asked to describe my favorite project and explain why I accepted the interview requests set up by the recruiter.

The recruiter was pleasant enough but the communication was really poor. Made it to a manager interview, held over video despite being in the same city. She was excited about my experience and then went radio silent. Nobody ever wrote to tell me I was no longer under consideration.
