      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      May 26, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Hyderābād
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Parexel (Hyderābād) in May 2019

      Interview

HR contacted me, First she was not sure if they can offer me the package I was expecting. But she confirmed and said ok based on your feedback we can stretch. So if you are from a PRODUCT DEV company already make sure with HR. F2F round - There was one senior guy taking the interview. He came in with some sheet which was having 5 questions written on them and you have to tell the output of those programs. While I was solving them , the guy had 2 more papers where he was drawing some tables and writing 4-5 SQL questions for me. I was totally confused of what is going on. During that time he was going through my resume and also underlining few things. The written questions were based on Thread -simple output, string literal and string ref equality, constructor chaining, subclass inheriting method defined in base class , array initialized twice would give compilation error. After I told have completed, he took a look at answers and discussed for a minute. After that asked me to write a program to reverse a string. I wrote using String buffer. He asked to write without that. I did that then again he asked dont create a new String if i have a huge array of string how would you do? I said i would swap the elements from start and end of the array and keep increment one side and decremented other side. Asked me to write the code, took a look at code. There might be some mistakes but he did not try to question me or shown any interest in knowing more, may be he made up his mind. Asked me about SQL, i said I have not done it recently but yeah i can write SQL's.But he did not give me that sheet. I understood he is done. Last thing he asked current work for 2 mins and then it was done. I was expecting it to be a bit more longer. Went for only 40 mins and was planned for an hour. No feedback till date from HR, and as i was not interested i didn't care to follow up with them.I have other offers in hand.
