Park Sterling Bank interview questions

The first phone contact was from the hiring manager asking questions about my background. His conversation tone was very careful in selecting the right candidate. After about 20 minutes, I asked for a face to face interview. The face to face interview went well. One thing that bothers me a lot is during the initial phone conversation, he asked me my age. That hit a sore spot with me. I have applied for hundreds of jobs and I always leave knowing in the back of my mind my age is working against me. After one month of staying in touch weekly, I get the rejection email only after I sent an email for a follow-up.
