It’s certainly possible to form an impression of a company based on its interview process and the behavior of its panel members.
In December 2021, I interviewed with a company where one of the senior managers conducted the interview. I felt confident and was answering questions correctly. However, he suddenly began insulting me, claiming that I lacked both semiconductor and software skills. He accused me of overhyping myself during the interview. When I mentioned my hobby of cycling, he mocked it and questioned whether I truly knew about cycling.
Despite his behavior, I maintained my composure throughout the 30 minutes. In the end, he told me I was selected, which left me confused, given his earlier comments about my skills. The salary negotiation process was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I can't imagine working under such a toxic boss and environment, so I decided not to join the company.
I understand that tough bosses can exist, but his repeated insults during the interview were uncalled for.
