Phocas Software interview questions

First interview was with a recruiter. Next was an interview with the CEO..this was actually a very good call...he liked me alot. Afterwards, I did an assessment..it was pretty easy to me. The final round was with what would have been my manager and a team-member. They passed on me because they said I was "too ambitious"..which is code for I have too much experience. Would have appreciated if they didn't waste my time. Also, I picked up on these vibes during the final call, that they felt I had too much experience. This left a bad taste in my mouth for Phocas.

The interviews and the technical themselves are fine. My gripe comes from the fact that I had 3 interviews, and spent a decent amount of time on the technical assessment (while also time-managing with my full-time job), then had to wait for around 3 months just to know that my application got rejected. I understand that half of the time, it was caused by internal changes, and I understand the economic situation in NZ being not so ideal may have had an effect. But as someone who progressed to the final stage, I felt I could have gotten clearer answers instead of being stalled for too long.
