I had an external recruiter reach out to me about a mid-senior front end position at Points. During the first phone interview, we spent some time talking about the company, as well as, about my professional background. Then, I was scheduled for another phone call with a technical recruiter from Points. Following the second phone interview, I had a 1-1 interview with director of engineering that lasted around 2 hours with white board session and lots of technical talk/questions.
Couple days later, I was given a take home assignment, which was closely related to company’s next project. I received great feedback after the code was submitted, and was then invited to meet with their senior developer along with a few more developers, project manager and VP. We discussed my take home project and I was told that they were impressed with my work, since it worked well, and no bugs were found. Shortly after, VP gave me a tour around the office. Overall, it felt like I was a great fit for the team but a few days later, I received a “No” with no clear feedback.
Suggestions: An explanation of what was not good enough about the candidate would have been preferred, considering numerous numbers of interviews took place. Otherwise, it felt like the company was just hunting for a great idea and somewhat of a boilerplate code for their upcoming project.
