Overall Application Review:
It was decent at first, I applied for a seasonal position (4 to 5 months contract). They already sent the overview of the position, salary package and schedule. The assessments were online but monitored live through MS Teams video call. After that I was told that I'll be having the initial interview within the same day.
The interview was long, it was around an hour and a half. It is mostly about my past experience about my most recent employer and psychological analysis. Then another short call was initiated the next day, saying that I passed the initial interview and I'll have the final interview. The interviewer gave me some points that I can use for the final interview.
The final interview was more thorough and lengthy. It took almost two hours and I was interviewed by the account supervisor and overall manager. It's almost the same process and questions as the initial interview but more psychological questions with example scenarios on how you will handle some difficult situation both in personal and in work space.
After that I was told that I passed the final interview and that we can proceed to submitting the requirements and doing the physical examination. I'm also tasked to provide 1 former supervisor and 2 former co-workers (from my most recent and former company) as a references. But the most important and separate to the list mentioned is another reference from the previous company's HR.
I provided all the necessary requirements and did the PEME, but then that's when the major issue comes up. At first, they told me that I'm going to start on the 15th of the month. That other than one government document that I'll be renewing, I'm cleared with requirements. However the very next week, they won't accept the Certificate of Employment that I provided. I really don't understand why. I asked them why they can't accept the COE and they told me that I need to include the clearance. When I submitted the clearance, they said that the clearance was not enough and was missing signatures. I told them that I won't be able to get the COE and final pay if the clearance was incomplete. Since my previous employer didn't answer the verification email that they've sent. They insisted that it was not enough.
Aside from that, I was told that I need to repeat some of the physical examination procedures because they saw an issue with the results. But I'm the one whose going to pay for the said procedure since it is outside of the PEME package they initially provided. That's when I decided to decline the offer.
I understand that they have a standard procedure when it comes to recruitment. But it is really excessive for a contractual position. Even though there's a premise that you can be regularized through that. The overall experience as an applicant was not that good and stressful. Especially with the false hope that I experienced.
