Interview was successfully cleared. I have asked for a 33% hike in the start and negotiated with the hr. When I cleared both the rounds, we even had a discussion and the hr, offered 30% hike and I was told they will be rolling the offer letter soon since they are happy with the interview. On the very next day I got a call from the hr and he offered me a package which was 20% less than what I was already having, which was very shocking to me. He said he had a word with their CEO, and the CEO shouted at him asking "Who asked you to offer such a big package". I appreciate the interview process, the process was very good, especially their approach, such as the task they have given me. But after the interview, I received this shocking news. I have a note to the hr, please confirm the budget b4 setting up an interview. When a candidate asks for a 30% hike, they'll never go for 20% less than what they are already having. To the candidates, please do not discouraged by this comment, there still people are working. But please take this information into consideration when you ask for the compensation. Hope this may be helpful for someone.
