The Final Round interviews for the RBC Wealth Management Generalist program was from 7am to 3pm on a Friday in early October, 2013. The (long) day started with a quick breakfast in a large boardroom where we all had an opportunity to meet our potential interviewers. Then five 2-on-1 (1 Generalist + 1 senior, or 2 seniors) interviews for 30 minutes each. Mostly behavioural questions and situational questions, but some market-based questions on investing strategy, asset outlook, etc. Questions included the following: Tell me about a time when you worked extra hard... If you had $1mill, what would you invest in? What is your outlook on gold? USD/CAD? What emerging markets do you like best? Why?" etc. After 5 interviews, there was a long 3-course lunch at the Shore Club where all of the interviewees were able to sit down with the interviewers and chat.
Overall, the day was a great interviewing experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and no interview was what I would consider difficult. The interview day was very well organized and packages of each interviewers background was included before the day of interviews began. Very good experience with RBC and pleased that I had the opportunity to interview for the Generalist program.
