I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at RBC in Nov 2014
Interview
I interviewed with the Houston Office of RBC Capital Markets, in the energy group. It was a phone interview with an Analyst and an Associate. The interview was a standard first round investment banking interview and lasted about 30 minutes. I was asked to walk them through my resume, why I wanted to work at RBC, why I wanted to work in energy and a few technical questions.

One 30 min 1st round, followed by a 1.5 hr superday. The process was online and super convenient and the team was helpful. HR reaches out with decisions 24-48 hrs after call
Generally, interviewers were very friendly, and the process was smooth. Two interviews for final round - technical & case study (which you are given a few days in advance) and behavioural. Logistically got unlucky, but my experience was not representative of the overall experience that I hear from most people.
