REI Automation interview questions

Applied online. Had phone interview and then followed up with on-site interview. On-site interview was one on one meeting with several different Engineering/Mechanical Managers, Business Manager, VP, Accountant/HR...etc. Interview lasted about 2.5hours with tour of facility. Everyone I met was pleasant enough and they seem interested in my skills/experience. The ending of the interview was kind of weird....the last person I met the Accountant/HR person basically said that was it and then I had to find my way back to my car, no real conclusion with the rest of the team. After the on-site interview and my thank you letter never heard anything back not even a rejection...

Phone interview after applying online. Interviewed with some engineering "lead"/manager. He came off as slightly rude and questions seemed random. I could tell he did not prepare and did not seem to enjoy interviewing candidates. To top off the rather mundane interview experience, at one point I answered a question about what books I was currently reading and he responded with "you're not a liberal, are you?" Southern hospitality at its finest! I was stunned and could not tell if he was joking or not. Even if it was a "joke", it was very inappropriate. That was all I needed to hear to end the interview and decline the invitation for an on-site interview, which he wanted ME to foot the bill for. Unprofessional interviewer and definitely came off as a person I could NOT see myself working for. I accepted another offer and a much better company, and one that did not ask/care about my political affiliation during the interview process.
