      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at RTX (Tucson, AZ) in Jun 2011

      Interview

Applied online for a manufacturing engineer position at Raytheon Missile Systems. A few weeks later, I was contacted by the Industrial Engineering Manager to complete a preliminary general questionnaire, which asked primarily about my past experience, what my interests in industrial engineering were, and whether I was willing to relocate to the Tucson area. After submitting this questionnaire, I waited for two weeks before emailing the manager for a follow-up on the process. Unfortunately, it seemed that they were having supplier issues which were slowing down the process. A week later, I had a phone interview to two Manufacturing Engineers which consisted mostly of basic behavioral questions and an overview of my resume and experiences. Another two weeks later, I followed up again, and was told that the manager in charge of the hiring was out of town and would be for another week. I followed up two weeks later, and was told that although I was still in the running for the position, the higher-ups had instituted a hiring freeze (possibly due to the ongoing government debt ceiling problem), but that I would be contacted as soon as they got the go-ahead to continue the hiring process. Still waiting, and although the process has been rife with interruptions, the personnel has been very accommodating and informative throughout the entire process. Needless to say, if you are patient enough, it seems that there are at least some very nice people working there.

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at RTX (Tucson, AZ) in Apr 2015

      Interview

After the initial phone interview process, they hosted a large interview convention in Tucson, AZ at a nice resort hotel. The 3-day experience was nice even though there were a few mandatory meetings that seemed unnecessary. The best part was being able to attend a Raytheon job fair where you could try to get more interviews.

      Interview

I was invited to fly down to Tucson for an onsite interview after having an easy phone interview. There was a networking event the day before the interview which I used to meet my managers before hand. I received an offer 2 hours after my interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at RTX

      Interview

The first evening I attended a hiring event with a large number of other candidates. The other candidates were from a variety of backgrounds looking for a variety of jobs. During the hiring event we met with hiring managers and discussed what their expectations for their candidates were and we coordinated interviews for the next day. The recruiters were excellent, encouraging people with higher degrees to be open to adjacent fields of work than their focused studies. The other candidates were energetic and friendly- something that was later reflected in the workforce when I accepted the position. I went through a few interviews with different groups, some were single interviewers, some were multiple interviewers. In all cases they were interested in my engineering experience and team work experience. The interviewers reflected my initial impression of the candidates and the recruiting team: energetic and friendly.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The standard questions asked were related to teams and conflicts. None of the questions were unexpected and there were not any technical questions asked.
