I applied online. I interviewed at RainFocus in Feb 2022
Interview
I had an initial 30 minute conversation with the department head and then was given a take home project. While I appreciated the take home test rather than an on-site tech interview, the challenge was extensive. I invested at least 15 hours to this challenge, which seems excessive considering there was no peer code review afterwards.
After completing the challenge, I was sent a standard email that I would not move on in the hiring process. This seemed rather cold, especially considering the level of work asked for in the tech challenge. Other companies I have interviewed with at least spent 30 minutes with me to review the code and give feedback.
Hi There, we sincerely apologize for the lack of communication. We always strive to keep our candidates informed of their process and we missed the mark. We will discuss with our team on how to be better in the future.
Other UI Developer Interview Reviews for RainFocus
The initial interview was casual. The 2nd part was a letdown. Build a project based on their design. Got no feedback and heard nothing from them until 3 weeks later

Interview
Had a 30 minute zoom with the team manager. They basically just asked questions to gauge your background. I was never asked to give the normal complete resume rundown. After the zoom I was given Assessment to do over the weekend which consisted of a Figma file in which I was instructed to build the layout responsively. At completion I was to build the project and send the file. Waited back to hear for almost a month and finally got the rejection letter, assessment wasn't mentioned.

Interview
My initial interview went well and they asked me to do a take home test. I was told that after that their would be a technical interview to review my project.
I finished the project in about a day and sent it over. I think I did well, and then I didn't hear back for about a month.
I didn't get the chance for my technical interview, they just sent me a somewhat insulting canned response:
"Although you have some of the experience and skills needed, we have decided to hire another candidate that has a little more experience at this time."
I've been doing this for 15 years.
