Screening interview
The first contact with a candidate, usually over the phone, to determine if they are qualified for the job.
First interview
A one-on-one interview to assess the candidate's qualifications and experience. This interview can be in-person, virtual, or by phone.
Second interview
A further interview to reduce the pool of candidates and determine if they are a genuine contender for the job. This could be additional meetings with the same interviewer or a day-long meeting with various staff members.
The interview process can also be broken down into general stages, such as: introductions, broad questions and answers, position-related questions, and conclusion.
