I applied through an employee reccommendation, and the process was quite smooth and standardized. It was the normal 3-part interview: a technical screen, a sample project, and an on-site interview.
The technical screen was standard, and I was asked a very realistic question for the time given. Of course, this was partially a behavioral interview as well.
The sample project was to create a relatively basic android application. This was the only company which gave a realistic timeline for the project to be completed by, and the project was of a very reasonable scope.
After reviewing the project, I was brought on-site to SF based office. This was also quite standardized for startups as it involved a series of interviews both technical, and non-technical interviews as well as an interview with the hiring manager.
Overall, if your familiar with the interview process, this is a quite normal and streamlined. I recieved an offer the same day, which was a very nice turnaround time.
