Interview
One of the smoothest interview processes I have come across. Christian and Amy kept me up to date at all stages and were very friendly and helpful. Started with a telephone interview, where I was able to discuss myself as well as my motivations for applying to the role. We then discussed the role in detail so i was aware about what I was applying for etc. I was then told there and then I would be moving onto the next process. Only a couple of days later I have a google hang outs interview. Here I was asked some more questions about myself, questions about the role and about the company. This was hosted my my area manager and operational manager. I was then told I would find out by the end of the day whether I was successful to attend a half day trail shift. About 2 hours later I received a phone call to congratulate me and told they would like me to attend with a technician a half day to see what the job entails and to ask any questions I may have. During the entire interview process each person has been extremely transparent with what the job involves, the positives and most importantly the negatives. This came from both the managers and the technician Phillip. By being able to discuss this at different levels I fully understand the role I am going into, not selling me stories like other positions have in the past. After my half day with the technician I jumped onto another call with my manager Luis and operational manager Devard, where we discussed what my day entailed. Whether I enjoyed what I had done. Any challenges I thought I may face if i was successful. If there was anything I was perhaps surprised about. I was then asked a bit about sustainability in the company. After this conversation I was then asked if I would like to take the position. So overall this process was a little over a week. With great communication from each person. Christian my initial interviewer even took the time to congratulate me. The truth is, even if i had not received an offer, the professionalism of this interview process has been great, I has been fast, each to communicate and set up and overall impressive of such a big company to take the time to make sure I was fully briefed around the job.

Interview
I applied to the Business and Science Graduate Scheme and was scheduled for a screening call. They do not provide a time slot for your call - they give you a day and you have to spend the day waiting for your call. When they emailed me to arrange this screening call, I also did not receive a reply of acknowledgement, so I wasn't entirely sure that they had actually received my email and whether they were still planning on calling that day. This means I had to spend most of the day in limbo, waiting for a call that may or may not happen.
The caller was friendly and polite, but I'm not sure if she was taking the call on speaker phone at maximum volume or something, because I was getting acoustic feedback on her end, which meant that I was getting the "echo" of my own responses back to her and it really distracted me and took me out of what I was trying to say. I should have pointed this out to her, so that's my fault, but definitely something to keep in mind.
The actual screening questions were very strange. The job specification states that you need a degree in a business or science subject at 2:2 or above and a full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points. I was asked about the level of maths and English qualifications I received from school? I could not answer because I genuinely do not remember, this isn't something employers generally ask about and I wasn't informed beforehand that I needed to have my school qualifications ready to discuss. I have a BSc which involved plenty of report writing and statistical analysis, so I feel the degree itself should be enough to prove the candidate has a good level of literacy and numeracy. If a candidate met their university's entry requirements and graduated, I don't feel that their understanding of Pythagoras' theorem or the depth of their analysis of Hamlet when they were 14 is particularly relevant.
I think Rentokil Initial would do well to improve its communication with candidates and be clear about the requirements for the role before candidates apply, to avoid wasting their own time and the time of others.

Interview
My interview process consisted of a few different stages. Started off with speaking to colleagues Jodie and Amy over the phone who I spoke with for around 45 minutes before a video call with Zak and Bob. Both interviews were great and answered all the questions I had. Then after a great trial shift with Joe I was offered the position and I am so delighted!
