I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Republic Airways (New York, NY) in Dec 2019
Interview
November 15 - Applied thru their website
November 16 - Received an email invitation for one-way video interview
November 18 - Did the one-way video interview
December 2 - Received an email invitation for phone interview. I am out of the country. Otherwise they would've probably contacted me via phone. Gladly found a way to be reached. A week later I had my phone interview. (I think they schedule phone interviews on Mondays)
Questions like:
Do you have any questions about the job or the pay?
How are you going to make it work when you'll know your base 2 weeks in training; move to base, commute, crashpad, etc.?
What passport do you have? Is it still valid?
Do you have any tattoos? If yes, where? (Tattoos must not be visible when wearing uniform)
I got invited to join training on TBD 2020, most likely mid February. They will contact me once they have a confirmed date.
Interview questions [7]
Question 1
Being a flight attendant is not just a career choice; it’s a lifestyle. Please introduce yourself and tell us what attracts you to the Flight Attendant lifestyle.
Part of being a flight attendant is dealing with customer issues sometimes. How would you handle this situation: You are a flight attendant working on a delayed flight. A passenger approaches you about missing their connecting flight. What would be the best way for you to respond?
Read an announcement they will flash on the screen. You don't get to read it while recording, so I suggest you write it down and memorize it, and practice on it.
Watched a video explaining the role and company values. Then, there was an opportunity to practice recording. Make sure you look into the camera, and not at yourself! Most of the questions you are only allowed to record once. The question is presented, and you are giving 1-2 minutes to prepare your response.
I applied online. I interviewed at Republic Airways in May 2025
Interview
One-way video interview—2 minutes prep time for each question, 2 minutes allowed for each response, no retakes. There was an 11-minute intro video that discussed the company's background, mission, culture statement, scheduling, and pay expectations. This was followed by a 2.5-minute tutorial on how to record and submit responses. There was also an opportunity to do a practice recording before beginning, so that was helpful. It was very awkward to talk directly to the camera without a person there, so be prepared for that, but it was good practice and a learning experience if nothing else. I recommend recording yourself responding to interview questions before sitting down to do the interview.

I interviewed at Republic Airways (Maryland Park, MD)
Interview
Virtual recorded responses. About six questions, the question appeared on the screen, there's a countdown, then you must record your response. Some questions we're a timed for one minute with one minute to respond. Some allowed more time to respond.
