I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Republic Airways (Indianapolis, IN) in Sep 2014
Interview
Republic Airways hosts flight attendant recruitment events throughout the nation as they are a growing company. I registered on their website for the location I would like to attend and received a confirmation email within a day. It is an all day process from 8:30 to no later than 4 or 5 in the evening, depending on when you are seen for one on one interviewing. The doors close promptly at 9AM, so if you are late, that's it. There was a good turnout of people about 50-75 with varying degrees of experience who are local and out of town. Interviewing is based on those who traveled farthest first to locals last. They play a company overview video, explain the vision, mission and plans for the company, hand out packets with details concerning compensation, scheduling, bases, airlines they associate with.
Once the main presentation is finished you wait until your name is called. You are interviewed one on one and they ask questions pertaining to how you handle difficult or unexpected situations, how you deal with people and what have you done to improve at your current or previous positions. They will expect you to explain any gaps in employment greater than 60 days. Due to their growth, they encourage people to apply for other positions within the company if you aren't selected or find that the flight attendant lifestyle isn't a good fit for you.
Watched a video explaining the role and company values. Then, there was an opportunity to practice recording. Make sure you look into the camera, and not at yourself! Most of the questions you are only allowed to record once. The question is presented, and you are giving 1-2 minutes to prepare your response.
I applied online. I interviewed at Republic Airways in May 2025
Interview
One-way video interview—2 minutes prep time for each question, 2 minutes allowed for each response, no retakes. There was an 11-minute intro video that discussed the company's background, mission, culture statement, scheduling, and pay expectations. This was followed by a 2.5-minute tutorial on how to record and submit responses. There was also an opportunity to do a practice recording before beginning, so that was helpful. It was very awkward to talk directly to the camera without a person there, so be prepared for that, but it was good practice and a learning experience if nothing else. I recommend recording yourself responding to interview questions before sitting down to do the interview.

Interview
Virtual recorded responses. About six questions, the question appeared on the screen, there's a countdown, then you must record your response. Some questions we're a timed for one minute with one minute to respond. Some allowed more time to respond.
