      Manager Interview

      Jul 10, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted the next day by a recruiter. The initial screening call got off to a rocky start, as the recruiter was 30 minutes late and had technical issues, so the call was conducted without their camera. The second stage was by far the best part of the process - a competency based interview with thoughtful, in depth questions that felt genuine and engaging. It did run over time (lasting around 1 hour and 15 minutes) but the conversation was positive, and I was happy to continue. The third stage was a case study. This proved more challenging, as I struggled to understand the interviewer’s communication, which made the task harder than it needed to be. Nevertheless, I passed this stage and progressed to the final round. The final interview is supposed to focus on cultural fit, according to Revolut’s own materials and guidance. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for me. Instead, the interviewer focused heavily on unexpected technical and competency-based questions (areas that had already been covered extensively in all other previous rounds). They also shared that they had no work life balance and that constant overwork was the norm to meet targets, which raised concerns for me about the company’s culture. After several hours of interviews and many more preparing, I received an impersonal, automated rejection email that mistakenly included feedback meant for someone else. When I raised this, I was met with silence for quite some time. Eventually, I was told they appreciated my collaborative mindset and people skills (something I was pleased to hear given the nature of the final interview) but the decision was based on concerns over the depth of my knowledge, despite having passed multiple rounds assessing the same competencies. Had I known the final interviewer was going to go off the usual tracks, I would’ve been more open to repeat myself and share in depth examples, as I did previously. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience that left me questioning the consistency and transparency of the process - something I hadn’t expected from a company like Revolut.

      Interview

lol negative reviews keep getting removed. The most pathetic interview process I have ever been engaged in. They sent me two emails at the same time - one an interview screening call with a Singapore HR - who just appears to be inexperienced and another to complete a CCAT test. Next day after the HR call, she emailed me to state that I was rejected on the grounds that I am over qualified - I mean you can’t read my CV that is in basic English to learn that I was overqualified before inviting me to your interviews lol? She advertised the job as being remote but during the interview she stated that it’s hybrid - when I asked she said it was a template error. Absolutely wasted my time. Avoid!

      Interview

Fairly long but clear steps from the beginning, engaged HR rep helped at each stage of the process. Consultant level benchmark regardless of role which seems like it’s working for the company given their expansion. Was it arduous? Yes. Did I learn a lot? Also yes. Perspective matters
