I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at SLB (Midland, TX) in Mar 2012
Interview
First interview was in person on campus and it went well enough to get a second interview. Was just asked the behavioral questions and why I wanted to work for them. Talked about my military background and it seemed to work out for me.
The second interview, I was flown out to Midland and we went into the hotel ballroom. There were probably 15 other candidates and we were assigned groups that required us to give a presentation on some Schlumberger service. After the 10 min presentation, each member of the group was grilled about various things regarding the service you gave a presentation on. The petroleum engineers seemed to do the best here. This lasted well into the night and into early morning where we had a team building exercise. You are evaluated during this.
The next morning you go out and visit a drill site and tour some local facilities that give you a chance to see everything and ask questions. There isn't too much evaluation going on here. When you get back to the hotel, you talk about a few things, present on why you'd be a good fit and then later you have an exit interview. My exit interview was extremely short and I got vibes that the guy wasn't interested in hiring me, but I also wasn't interested in working for the company. It worked out and I didn't get an offer, which I'm happy about. At the end of the night, we went out to dinner.

Question 1
I was asked about gases down-hole, but the question was really vague and I wasn't sure what he was asking for.
1st round interview included short technical question, and telling about myself and the projects I worked on.
Not difficult/or hard, but just need to explain well enough to tell the logic process
It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions
