The next step is the manager and the owner well ask you to come in to shadow assist for 5 1/2 to 6 hours and not pay you. You may get tipped out but it’s not even $5 an hour to assist. When I was shadow assisting there was also another shadow assistant that was there for two weeks. None of this means that you’re even in the door and have the job. I believe they don’t wanna pay an assistant so they are using and taking advantage of stylists. The owner is definitely a narcissist and definitely will gaslight you. If you want your time wasted enter feel like crap then apply but I’m sure there are better salons that have a stronger moral compass than this establishment.
