I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sapling Financial Consultants (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2026
Interview
Applied for a Manager, Data Analytics & BI role. The first round with HR was positive—well-structured, with thoughtful questions, and it felt like a strong potential fit.
I was then given a take-home assignment with a 24-hour turnaround. However, the scope of the task felt significantly larger than what could reasonably be completed within that timeframe (closer to multiple days of work). The requirement to avoid using AI tools added to the challenge.
I spent ~14 hours completing and submitting the assignment. After a week with no update, I followed up and received a rejection. Unfortunately, there was no feedback or proactive communication during the process.
Overall, the experience suggests a high workload environment (also reflected in other reviews).
There is an opportunity to improve the interview process, particularly around setting clearer expectations for assignments and providing more transparent communication and feedback to candidates.

Interview
First round interview. About 40 mins, with two technical questions about AR. Friendly interviewer. Not aggressive at all. If your answers were wrong, you would be corrected by the interviewer, in a friendly way. It’s a great experience wouldn’t stress you, though I didn’t get any feedback afterwards.

Interview
First interview was easy, second was an online technical that was genuinely hard. Hard DCF. The other questions weren't too bad mainly accounting based, but that DCF was brutal. I heard the vibes aren't great there anyway.
