Interview Experience: Mixed
I went through a three-stage interview process for a senior manager role in the GBM&T Compliance Learning function. Overall the interviews themselves were a positive experience — the recruiter was personable and enthusiastic about Scotiabank's culture and the growth of their Dallas office, the hiring manager was straightforward and gave good context about the role, and the panel was engaged and professional. One panel member specifically commented positively at the end of the interview, which left me feeling good about where things stood.
Where the process fell short was in communication after the panel interview. I completed all three stages within the first two weeks, then waited with no proactive updates. When I followed up, I learned other candidates were still being interviewed — which was fine, but that context should have been shared without me having to ask. At one point the recruiter committed to providing an update by end of week and didn't follow through until I sent another follow-up the following week.
In total, it was three weeks from my final panel interview to receiving a rejection — and most of that time I had no visibility into where things stood or what the timeline looked like.
